| Mr. Goldstein represents US and foreign companies in litigation before federal and state courts. He also acts as consulting counsel in foreign litigation when US law applies. A litigator and trial counsel for three decades, he has litigated extensively in antitrust and securities law cases, in the banking and financial services sector, in the bankruptcy-reorganization context in intellectual property cases, and in disputes over international commercial contracts. As an international arbitration practitioner, a leading commentator on US arbitration law, and a member of the American Law Institute consultative group on the Restatement of International Arbitration Law, Mr. Goldstein is well-positioned to serve clients' needs in litigation related to arbitration, including proceedings to compel or enjoin arbitration, to secure evidence for use in arbitration, to resist or support claims of foreign sovereign immunity, and to enforce or oppose enforcement of domestic or foreign arbitral awards. Mr. Goldstein will partner with foreign or domestic law firms, to form a suitable "team" where the size and complexity of the case warrant this approach. |
